Ladies, It’s finally time! Fall is right around the corner, and I can’t wait to see all the different Fall 2023 Fashion trends and looks this season. While I personally don’t follow fashion trends religiously (kudos to you if you do), I am fascinated by the connection between Fashion Week and fashion trends. The effect of runway fashion shows and designers’ newest collections on upcoming fashion trends is unquestionably significant. This Fall and Winter season, you’re going to see trends that have come straight from the runway, celebrities’ outfits, and social media platforms (especially tiktok).
Please keep in mind that I encourage you to wear whatever you feel confident in this fall, be authentic to yourself, and avoid wearing/ buying something just because everyone else is. With that being said, there’s also no shame in partaking in trends either. If you encounter one that inspires you and ignites your creativity, great! If not, don’t wear it, or challenge yourself to consider ways in which a trend can be styled differently to suit you. What I admire about fashion trends is that you can always put your own spin on it. You can style one clothing item in 100 different ways. Similarly, one fashion trend concept can be interpreted and portrayed in so many different ways. That is the art of fashion. This year, the trends are intriguing, to say the least. So, without further ado…
Big Black Coats have definitely made their mark on the runway. While the oversized coat look is nothing new, this Fall there is a heavy emphasis on black coats, specifically long, and large ones. These fall nothing short of dramatic, and bring a serious mood to the table.
It’s giving ties, it’s giving suits, it’s giving corporate girl. This season you’re going to be seeing a lot of formal/ business outfits. Ties are definitely going to be showing up a lot more, as well as suits, blazers, and work loafers. The red purse detail in the photo (shown above) brings me to the next Fall 2023 trends…
Red is having its moment in 2023. During fashion week, we’ve seen plenty of pops of red. Whether it’s a small accessory such as a red pair of shoes, a bag, or even just a red lip, or even a full red look/ monochromatic outfit, red is definitely the statement piece of the season.
This is definitely a trend you either love or hate. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who do like it, they’ll be drinking that tea daily. I think at the very least we can all agree they look comfortable. These platform uggs have a lazy/cozy girl vibe to them, and I’m already seeing the ugg controversy show up all over my TikTok. I’m curious to see how far this trend goes this season.
While this look may have been seen before in 2022, the sleeveless oversized puffer vest look is going to be seen a lot more this year. Whether it’s a trip to your Dad’s closet, or you go out a buy one, the Dad Vest is going to be a favorite. It’s comfortable, keeps you warm but not too warm, and gives that effortless but stylish look.
As you can see, 2023 Fall and Winter Fashion trends are going to be very bold this year. You’ll see a lot of suits, pops of red, and black, big coats and jackets, and huge platform shoes. I look forward to seeing everyone’s take on these trends and perhaps the development of new ones.
